It is possible to do this using Groebner basis (see Becker and Weispfenning, Groebner Bases, Ch. 9.3) but I do not think this is directly implemented in Mathematica. Anyway, I am sure Daniel Lichtblau can provide much better information. -- Andrzej Kozlowski Toyama International University JAPAN http://sigma.tuins.ac.jp http://eri2.tuins.ac.jp ---------- >From: rowell at euclid.ucsd.edu (Eric Rowell) To: mathgroup at smc.vnet.net >To: mathgroup at smc.vnet.net >Subject: [mg18436] [mg18382] Krull dimension >Date: Thu, Jul 1, 1999, 3:13 AM > > Is there a way to compute the Krull dimension of a quotient of a polynomial ring > using mathematica? > Eric Rowell
