Mojca, We can get alpha by typing either escape a escape (an alias) or \[Alpha] (its name) capital alpha by escape A escape or \[CapitalAlpha] theta by escape th escape or \[Theta] capital theta by escape Th escape or \[CapitalTheta] etc. You can find all these and much more by going to File > Palettes > Complets Characters > Letters > Greek Placing the pointer over a letter will show an alias and the name on the bottom bar. Note also the Script, Gothic, Double-Struck and Extended Latin alphabets.
