To all who replied, thank you. I see now that it is in the online help, but
only in the Master Index. After not finding it in the built-in functions,
and being taken immediately to
@@  is "Apply"
foolishly looked no further there and turned to the Third Edition book, but
couldn't locate it. Anyhow. Thanks again.
