Perhaps I didn't understand your question, but why not use directly the
in-built error function Erf[x]?

In[1]:=
Erf[2.]
Out[1]=
0.9953222650189527
In[2]:=
Erf[2. + 4*I]
Out[2]=
3999.2673029607363 - 20442.12362613485*I
In[3]:=
Erf[-2.*I]
Out[3]=
-18.564802414575553*I
