i'm using Mathematica 4.0 with win98 and printing to a postscript printer. i have some ListDensityPlots which on screen have lots of gray levels, but when printed only the white and black 'cells' appear, with the mid-level gray cells rendered as black. However when i cut and paste those graphics to ms word ('97) and print from there the gray levels come out ok, so that rules out a printer driver problem. any clues? . . . how many would like to see/pay for wolfram concentrating on cleaning up the extensive gui/graphics/eps/font problems rather than introducing (i'm sure excellent, to be fair) new features in 5.x? i know there are cross-platform portability issues, but at some point, if you have to spend hours or days for each figure that needs to get into a paper... not trying to start a flame war, just curious if wolfram marketing can be swayed to listen to, what seems to me, increasingly many voices. i think the print version of mathematica journal (new edition) is beautiful, but it sounds like there are a lot of people tweaking it because the online version doesn't look as tight. alan calvitti dynamics of adaptive behavior group, cwru axc at eecs.cwru.edu
