You too huh. I had the same problem in Mathematica 4.0 on RedHat Linux
7.3. The only way around it was a reboot of the PC. Simply closing and
opening Mathematica was not enough. I also got a message that the
mathematica init.m had had changes (can't remember the specific details)
made to it and a dialogue with with options yes/no.
Firstly I clicked yes. The problem remained. So I rebooted and opened up
a notebook and waited for the message again. This time I clicked no and
since then I have had no drama.
