You can export graphics to PDF. They can then be directly edited by 
several Mac programs. Certainly FreeHand can do it (I have just tried 
it with a Graphic3D object and it seems to work pretty well)  so I am 
sure so can Illustrator (after all it is an Adobe product). In fact, I 
would imagine that this would also be WRI's answer.
