Hi,

Unprotect[Subscript];
SetAttributes[Subscript, HoldFirst]

Subscript[a_, i_Integer] := Part[a, i]

Protect[Subscript];


and

lst = Array[a, {5}];


Subscript[lst,4] gives a[4]
