Here is a quick modification,

plt2 = ContourPlot[Sin[x y], {x, -1, 1}, {y, -1, 1}, Contours -> {-.5,
.5}]
plt3 = ListContourPlot[Table[x^2 + y^2 + Random[Real, {-0.2, 0.2}], {x,
-2, 2,
0.1}, {y, -2, 2, 0.1}]];

Cases[InputForm[plt2], ContourGraphics[x__] -> x][]
Cases[InputForm[plt3], ContourGraphics[x__] -> x][]
