Does anybody out there know how to use the categorylists function for p-variate date

These are part of the statistics data manipulation package.  I have read the
documentation and have used Mathematica for years, but these functions
simply escape me.  I can't find any examples of their use.

Any help will be appreciated.  Thanks in advance!
