I just remembered what they are: Part of the Mathematica Link for Excel
add-on.
I do wish that authors of all windows .exe files would embed
identification as to Company, File Version, Interla Name, etc. author so
that they are visible on the Version tab of the file's Properties in
Windows. (These two .exe's hav no such identification.) (That's one of
several annoyances due to thoughtlessness on the part of software
publishers.)
