Paul,

Thanks for that tip - it seems to work really well - I hope I have not 
infected my machine with anything - I will run a check just in case.

I did look at PDFCreator suggested by David Annetts, but it was less 
obvious how to install it, and it seemed to need Ghostscript, etc.
