f[x_,y_]:=Exp[x]*Exp[y];

Plot3D[f[a,b], {a, -2, 2}, {b, -2, 2},PlotRange->All];

ContourPlot[f[a,b], {a, -2, 2}, {b, -2, 2}];

Plot3D[Evaluate[f[a,b]/.{a->Log[a],b->Log[b]}], {a, -2, 2}, {b, -2, 2}];

ContourPlot[Evaluate[f[a,b]/.{a->Log[a],b->Log[b]}], {a, -2, 2}, {b, -2, 2}];
