You need StringReplace[] in some form .... iname = StringJoin["Old_Name", ToString[#], ".jpg"] & /@ Range[10] oname = StringReplace[#, {"Old" -> "New"}] & /@ iname If you are only renaming files, then you don't need to Import the files. You only need RenameFile[]. Regards, Dave.
