Converting audio signal into sines and cosines tia sal2

I have an audio signal / wav file and would like to know if mathematica can 
convert this audio signal / wav file into sines or cosines.  Is this 
possible with mathematica are thier any examples?  If not what type of 
program will allow me to do this.
