Dear Hans:
I have created a tutorial for using the PacletInfo.m file and submitted it
to the Wolfram Library Archive (a.k.a. Wolfram Information Center). If they
accept it (they will answer within a month), then this technique will be
documented in a Wolfram Research page.
I do NOT work for Wolfram Research, I canNOT tell you what Wolfram Research
will do in the future about the use of the PacletInfo.m files, however I
am certified Mathematica Instructor (http://www.wolfram.com/services/education/instructors/munoz.html)
and I do believe the use of the PacletInfo.m file is a good, safe technique.
Regards from Mexico and felices fiestas
Jose

Jose,
Thank you for your reply.
Where do you find this information? I did a google search on
PacletInfo.m and find only two references to this (other than archives
of this thread). The two references are:
1) Your package
http://homepage.cem.itesm.mx/lgomez/quantum/installation/installation.html
2) A list someone produced of new files downloaded
http://aix5doc.zam.kfa-juelich.de/ibmsc/software/news/mathematica_newfile.txt
I can find absolutlely nothing on the Wolfram web site about this. So
whilst I thank you for the information, I'm reluctant to use a
completely undocumented technique.
Hans
