On Matematica notebook options

I run Mathematica 5.2 at my office and at home --- two different
executables but the same version. Unfortunately, when I create a
notebook at work (home) it will not look the same at home (work). That
is, there are some differences (some rather subtle) in the notebook
options, which are not easy to identify. Is there a way that I can force
the options to be identical for all notebooks, whether created at home
or at work?
