Follow the directions from this thread (note that removing a palette is 
a manual procedure): " Version 6.0 Palettes" (June 5, 2007)

If you are new to Mathematica, I would suggest not to use the Notation 
package. If you insist, then go to comp.soft-sys.math.mathematica on 
Google groups, and search with keywords like "symbolize", "notation 
package", "subscript variable".
