If I have correctly understood what you are looking for, go to
Menu /Format/ --> /Option Inspector .../ --> /Notebook Options/ -->
/Evaluation Options/ --> /EvaluationCompletionAction/ --> in the
drop-down menu list select "AddTimeStamp", then click the button "Apply"
