Netlink Net Framework

In the past I have uses Visual Stuio and C++ when using Netlink.

I have just tried with a simple Microsoft download of  "Microsoft .NET
Framework Version 2.0 Redistributable Package (x86)" from

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=0856eacb-4362-4b0d-8edd-aab15c5e04f5&displaylang=en

or file dotnetfx.exe


Netlink causes a crash with the Message

To run applicationj must iunstall the followingf versions of the .Net
bFfamework

v1.1 4322

Are there any Free download that will do the job?

p.s. why the ####  can't windows output important error messages so
one can cut and paste the test?
