Eigenvalues are computed using a third-party (Intel) linear algebra
library. Different versions of this library are optimized better or
worse for different processors and/or operating systems. For instance,
the libraries were optimized for the original AMD Athlon (WinXP) in
Math5.0, but not anymore in Math5.2. Thus, linear algebra with Athlon
machine became slower.
