-singleLaunch flag in v6.0 broken (Linux)

Try as I might, I cannot invoke `-singleLaunch' from the command line
when launching Mathematica v6.0. Both `-singleLaunch' and `-
querySingleLaunch' are apparently ignored. Other command line
options, like `-version' and `-cleanStart', are not ignored. Is
anybody else seeing this problem?
