Hi, I have just installed Snow Leopard ... see system details below. 1 The 1st indication of potential problems was that double clicked Mathematica notebooks were opened by Apple Numbers by default. That was reset by opening a notebook with Mathematica and resetting the application association. 2 The 1st open notebook generated the error: "Assertion '(Unknown OS Error)' failed at LikeResource.c:56" However continuing did start Mathematica and run some initial notebooks OK 3 However there is also a problem with Mathematica Documentation Display. For example Needs["Benchmarking`"] displays as NeedsC"Benchmarking`"G and BenchmarkReport[] displays as BenchmarkReport@D In spite of that the BenchMark Report runs to completion and displays OK! and also gives the improvement below: Excellent speed improvement MathematicaMark7 Benchmark Report - Snow Leopard 2.21 vs Leopard 1.92 { {"Machine Name:", "macbookpro-0017f2c973c7-3"}, {"System:", "Mac OS X x86 (64-bit)"}, {"Date:", "August 28, 2009"}, {"Mathematica Version:", "7.0.1"}, {"Benchmark Result:", "2.21"} } { {"Machine Name:", "macbookpro-0017f2c973c7-3"}, {"System:", "Mac OS X x86 (64-bit)"}, {"Date:", "November 21, 2008"}, {"Mathematica Version:", "7.0.0"}, {"Benchmark Result:", "1.92"} } I expect that I will run across more problems and will be working with WRI & Apple to resolve my issues. I wanted to alert MathGroup members ASAP so they may choose to hold on conversion to Snow Leopard until the problems are better understood or fixes become available. Best wishes ...
