Bob, this is not a kindle forum.
Anyway, you can read the kindle 2 specs here

At the bottom you can download the quick start guide and the user
manual in pdf. It is even said that they are preinstalled on Kindle 2.
Conclusion : you can read pdf files on Kindle 2, so you can read the
Matheamtica docs too.
Kindle uses e-ink technology so I think it displays in B&W only.
