Step 1:

{n},
{i}
} ), {i, 0, j}]}

Step 2

Manually delete the curly brackets

Step 3

Editing after step 3 produced the following:

\!\(\*
TagBox[
FormBox[
RowBox[{
UnderoverscriptBox["\[Sum]",
RowBox[{"i", "=", "0"}], "j"],
RowBox[{"(", "\[NoBreak]", GridBox[{
{"n"},
{"i"}
},
GridBoxAlignment->{
"Columns" -> {{Left}}, "ColumnsIndexed" -> {},
"Rows" -> {{Baseline}}, "RowsIndexed" -> {}},
GridBoxSpacings->{"Columns" -> {
Offset[0.27999999999999997`], {
Offset[0.7]},
Offset[0.27999999999999997`]}, "ColumnsIndexed" -> {}, "Rows" -> {
Offset[0.2], {
Offset[0.4]},
Offset[0.2]}, "RowsIndexed" -> {}}], "\[NoBreak]", ")"}]}],
Editable->True]\) p^i (1 - p)^(n - i)

The formula on the screen is correct, but it is too small to be viewed
on a projector. Doubling the size works, but if possible, I would
prefer to change the font of the text in the formula.
