If so, what other differences can I expect? If settings are not permanent you have to change the write permission of the user groups for certain directories to "All" or to install and work with administrator rights or set the compatiblity mode of the programs. The underlying security directory structures and the pointers for user and program data are sometimes changed without notice by automatic windows updates or by an automatic restart after a crash. Especially windows update installation versions over older systems tend to develop inconsistent directory structures. -- Roland Franzius
