Disclaimer: I have not used the Home Edition.
General statement: Except for obviously different creatures, such as
Mathematica Player, all "editions" of a given Mathematica version
(8.0.0, e.g.) are identical in functionality _except_ as to:
(1) platform-dependent implementation issues; and possibly
(2) extra legends that appear on printed output (thus, at least in
the past, when you printed pages from the Student Edition, the output
was clearly identified as such).
Moreover, clearly different "editions" may have different:
(a) license terms and duration;
(3) availability of direct technical support (beyond installation
issues) from Wolfram Research.
