The version of the plug-in that shipped with Mathematica 8.0.0 works 
with my Firefox 3.6.13 under Windows XP.

At the risk of checking on the obvious: I believe you need to have 
installed Mathematica itself (or possibly, for a .nbp, just Mathematica 
Player) on your own computer.
