version 2.2.2 and Windows 98

Does anyone know if Mathematica v. 2.2.2 will run under Windows 98? I haven't used Mathematica at home in quite some time and I don't want to spend the money to update to v3 at home. I am hesitant to install it because as I recall, it loads Win32s into the Windows/system directory and it would probably be hard to get rid of it if it corrupts something else.
