Hi Lila, I recently upgraded my machine to Windows 98. Following your query, I opened and ran a few old notebooks I had from Version 2.2.1, which of course were made under Windows 95. There seemed to be no problem at all, and everything worked fine (the only thing I could notice at first glance is that you have to use Shift-Enter instead of the convenient Enter in the numerical pad of the keyboard, which is a nice feature of Version 3). Although this can hardly be called "experience" on the subject, my impression is that you would be safe using the upgrade. But..., why not install Mathematica V. 2.2 on the machine that has Windows 98 and try some of the your old notebooks there? As I recall, in V. 2.2 the password was not geared to the particular copy of Windows you have installed, so that this test is straightforward. Good luck, Tomas Garza Mexico City
