I have exactly the same problem as described above and had to revert from 8.6 where it always happened to 8.5.1 where it sometimes happened. I suspected Palm Desktop but didn't find the message on Wolfram Support Pages. I now notice (prompted by this posting) that this message is now available on the Systems->Macintosh->Compatibility support page dated 7 Jun 99, what isn't mentioned is what timescale a fix is expected and if the fix is going to be in Mathematica or in the Palm program. -- Nigel King
