Hi Peter,
I could not use the "file" you sent to MathGroup. What I did was to
evaluate the expression Plot[x, {x, 0, 1}] on my system (Intel Windows
XP), and this expression did work as expected, generating and
displaying correctly the plot (axis, tick marks, straight line from 0
to 1). I am clueless about what happens (or not happens) on your
system.
