Hi Khaled,
         Mathematica uses "Numerical method of lines" and the number of
independent variables must be restricted to atmost 2.However,Mathematica has
exceptional symbolic computational abilities and it will not be difficult to
rephrase your problem to a form that is solvable.Please provide further
details like the form of f(U) and boundary conditions so that we can proceed
further.
