A friend of mine is considering buying a (not so expensive) notebook
with Turion 64 X2 or Intel Core 2 Duo (T5xxx or T7xxx) to run
Mathematica 6.0.1 64 bits on Ubuntu 7 64 bits. Any advice is welcome as
it is difficult to find Mathematica 6 benchmarks of Intel Core 2 Duo and
Turion 64 X2 machines running on Linux 64 bits.

    Happy New Year !

       Roberto

My (extended) specifications are:
AMD Turion 64 X2 Mobile Tecnology TL-60 2.00 GHz (AMD64 Family 15
Model 72 Steppung 2) Max Clock Speed 2000 MHz
Memory (RAM) 2046 MB
OS: Vista Enterprice 64-bit OS
Computer: Acer Ferrari 5000
