By accident I found a workaround...

Actually I have also AutomaticUnits installed from
http://library.wolfram.com/infocenter/MathSource/7655/

If I open in the Mathematica Help Browser the Palette of
AutomaticUnits, the processor load goes to normal level immediately.
Browsing again in Mathematica Navigator explodes the load. Closing and
reopening the palette again reduces the processor load. But I had to
close other notebooks to get this effect. So only help browser is
open.

Maybe there are other workarounds?
