MathGroupers:
Do any of you know of work linking the Excel spreadsheet
program and Mathematica - both under Windows on PC's?
I have had a question from some researchers who want to
be able to enter data into a spreadsheet - because that is
what their people want to do - and then do nonlinear curve
fitting to the data in a very transparent way.
Right now there is no MathLink for the PC, so that is not
possible. Is the only way to do this to save the Excel
data into a file, then read the file into a Mathematica
notebook, do the nonlinear fitting there and then the
graphics? Has anyone done anything like this?
What about on a Mac with or without MathLink?
Are there any nonlinear curve fitting programs
better or different than the ones shipped with
Mathematica or on MathSource?
Thanks.
