student vs. enchased PPC performance

Would anyone be able to give me a rough estimate on the performance difference
between the student version of Mathematica for the PowerMac and the 
enchased version ?  I know that the first runs in emulation mode, whereas
the second runs in native mode.  My question is whether the 8 times difference
in price is justified.  I could not find an FAQ for this group.
