Student version of Mathematica and Mathlink

Does anyone know if the student version of Mathematica has access to the
mathlink ability to implement a C program as a function. I am doing a
project and it involves some pretty heavy number crunching. I hear that
using mathlink and an external C program can spped it up a bit (8 hours
on a 486/100 16M ram is a bit much!)
If the student version does not come with Mathlink, can it be purchased
separately?
TIA
