The core of your problem resides in the fact that PostScript interpreter
in the notebook front end relies on your operating system to provide
rotated font glyphs.  Windows 95/98/NT should be able to rotate the
text properly, but both Macintosh and Unix/X Window are not able to do

The problem here is not in the abbreviated PostScript code itself, it is
in the rendering process done by the front end.  If you print the
notebook on a PostScript printer, you should see that the text is
rotated properly.   If you export the graphic as an encapsulated
PostScript file and rasterize it with Ghostscript (freely available on
all platforms mentioned herein), you should see properly rotated test.
