The format of the text I sent to mathgroup appeared different when it
was sent back to me by the mathgroup listserv. The text in the cell I
was "fighting with" did NOT look like:
> (* 1st word *) N[(2*Pi/1*^-6)*1.40] (* 2nd word *)
> N[(2*Pi/1*^-6)*1.45] (* 3rd word *) N[(2*Pi/1*^-6)*1.50]
In the actual notebook cell, the entries were on three separate lines:
(* 1st comment *) N[(2*Pi/1*^-6)*1.40]
(* 2nd comment *) N[(2*Pi/1*^-6)*1.45]
(* 3rd comment *) N[(2*Pi/1*^-6)*1.50]
(I placed extra linespaces between the entries above to help ensure that
the message would appear correct when this was emailed back to all of
us.)
I still don't know why the evaluation was so unusual. To address my
dissatisfaction with pagebreaks and formatting, I have downloaded
Publicon and will learn to use that.
