Hi John,
a) ask Microsoft
b) the Printer Driver ? may be different or the same and both may cause
trouble
The best advice I can give you is to use the Adobe PostScript printer
driver (from
http://www.adobe.com/supportservice/custsupport/download.html) print to
a PostScript file and use GhostScript for final output. That has worked
fine even in complicated cases.
