I don't think you can do this in a CellLabel.  You can do it via
CellTags or as a CellDingbat (which may do what you want?):

Cell["Text \[Alpha]", "Text",
  CellTags->"Text \[Alpha]",
  CellLabel->"Text \[Alpha]",
  CellDingbat->"Text \[Alpha]"]
