Another Display[..,..,"PDF"], Export[..,..,"PDF"] problem

1st: What's the difference between Display and Export?
2nd: I want to export a Graphics-Object with AspectRatio->1 using
Display["name.pdf",expr,"PDF"]. But the result is rectangular. What is
to be done?
