please tell me if individual contours can be labled in ContourPlot

I've looked a lot and I find no mention of being able to put labels on
contours in a ContourPlot.

If someone will tell me that this is true, I'll give up and quit
looking.  If you can put a label on these
curves, I'll eventually figure out how to do it.
