Hello from Melbourne Australia,
A few years ago I stumbled across a Win32 command prompt program named
factor.exe by Shamus Software in Ireland. The program uses the C MIRACL
library to work with large integers (up to about 10^90 I think).
Factor.exe seems to have staggering speed and power in finding factors. I
was wondering if there is a similarly powerful factoring program available
in Mathematica. I'd be keen to hear from anyone with news of a high-power
factoring program in Mathematica. I imagine the equivalent code in
Mathematica could be much more elegant and educational.
Cheers,
Greg Keogh
