Saving In[] & Out[] tags in notebooks

If you want to keep the In and Out tags in your mathematica notebook so they
survive a save you can do so like this:
In the Edit Menu select Preferences.
In Cell Options choose Cell Labels and change
CellLabelAutoDelete from True to False.
A Professor here wanted to keep track of what he had done and in what order.
(WARNING) I don't think this is a good idea, but in special cases, you may
want to recall your thinking. Of course, you can't edit any expression and
expect a new number, but you can always copy the expression to the end of
the notebook.
