Hi,

what mathematics do you mean. The mathematics of 
 - undefined integration
 - how to integrate a function

or 
 - how Mathematica integrate a function.

The first two problems are subject to undergraduate
mathematics and you should consult the standard
text books

For the third problem, have a look at
http://mathworld.wolfram.com/RischAlgorithm.html

*and* the references listed there.
