wierd differential

When I put
\!\(D[1 - e\^\(\(-2\) \((y + 1)\)\), y]\)
and, the result
\!\(2\ e\^\(\(-2\)\ \((1 + y)\)\)\ Log[e]\)
why Log[e] is added?
