Mathematica 5.2 for Linux X Error

Hello all, I have just installed the trial version of Mathematica 5.2
for Linux and the command line interface appears to work fine. However,
the X interface throws the following error upon running

X Error of failed request:  BadValue (integer parameter out of range
for operation)
  Major opcode of failed request:  78 (X_CreateColormap)
  Value in failed request:  0x4c00005
  Serial number of failed request:  297
  Current serial number in output stream:  298


Any suggestions to solving this problem would be great,
