I now got official Mathematica 6.0 for Mac OS X and can confirm that
using a graphic object as third argument to Rectangle no longer
works. As I suspected, that must have been due to a last minute
change (it worked in the last pre-Release version). Of course it no
longer matters (except as another non-compatibility issue) but I
thought I should correct my earlier misleading statement.
It would be mildly interesting to know the reasons for this change,
since WRI does not normally introduce incompatibilities for no
reason. Perhaps the old functionality was actually causing some
problems.
